Join us on April 5, 2019 for a special evening as Lucy Peabody and William Cooper Parke make a special appearance at Hawaiian Mission Houses! William Cooper Parke (1821 - 1889) Born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, W.C. Parke came to Hawaii in 1843. He was appointed as the Marshal of the Kingdom of Hawaii in 1850 and served in that capacity until 1884. The Marshal was the chief law enforcement officer of the Kingdom. He was Marshal during the 1853 smallpox epidemic and during the riots following King Kalakaua's election. Played by Christopher Denton. Lucy Kaopaulu Peabody (1840 - 1928) She was the granddaughter of Isaac Davis, the advisor to Kamehameha I. She was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Emma. She also re-established the Kaahumanu Society, one of the four Hawaiian Royal Benevolent Societies. Played by Karen Kaulana. Event will be at Hawaiian Mission Houses, 553 S. King St., Honolulu. 5:00 p.m. cocktails 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. program. $25 per person.
